Unity Lecture

This past Sunday, more than 300 communities, large and small, from around the world (including here in Sacramento) tuned in to a live web-cast in celebration of the year of Hakhel. The web-cast featured the noted scholar, Rabbi Adin Even-Yisroel Steinsaltz who spoke on the significance of Torah Study and how it promotes unity. His talk entitled “Unity of Heart through Unity of Purpose” was introduced by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, vice chairman of Merkos L’Inyanei Chinuch. The program concluded with a special musical rendition by Baruch Tzfasman and a preview of the upcoming Unity Lecture.

The program was the first in a series of four that will take place this year organized by Torah Cafe, the online division of the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute. The next web-cast is scheduled for 4 Nissan (March 29) and will be highlighted with an address by the Chief Rabbi of the British Commonwealth, Sir Jonathan Sacks.

If you missed the live version, you can watch it here. Enjoy!

He was welcomed home by a demonstration staged by anti-Israel elements in his area, which was then given coverage on the front page of the local paper. To clarify the matter he wrote the following article:
