Benjamin Grossbaum

You may know of him as Benjamin Graham, but his original surname was... Grossbaum! He came to the States as a two year old child and eventually became one of the most highly regarded investors on Wall Street. He changed his name to Graham during World War I because his family felt that any German sounding name was considered suspect. (Grossbaum, in Yiddish/German, means “big tree”).
