What is Chabad Jewish Community Center?
Chicken soup on Friday night. A visit to the hospital. The light in a child’s eyes when he reads his first Hebrew word. A helping hand in times of need. Chabad is a home away from home for every Jew in Folsom, El Dorado Hills and the surrounding region. We are dedicated to serving our community - and now we’re asking for your support to help us build a bright Jewish future, together.
Especially this year.
2020 has been a tough year for all of us. We’ve worked hard this year to ensure that every local Jewish family felt connected, despite being apart. In addition to increased Zoom classes and events; we’ve delivered hundreds of Challah and Chicken Soup packages as well as many holiday meals and gifts. Beginning with Seder at Home kits, we’ve continued providing supplies and guidance to observe the holidays at home. And most importantly, we make sure that no one feels forgotten.
How does a Match Campaign work?
Running an operation like Chabad Jewish Community Center’s requires a major investment of time, energy, and capital. While our Rabbi Yossi and Rebbetzin Goldie work tirelessly to ensure that no Jew is left behind, the day-to-day expenses of operating a Chabad center can be daunting.
Rather than charging membership fees or exorbitant event prices, which could alienate some people, we rely on the generosity of the community that we serve. To that end, David Philipp, together with the Shekarlab Family and a number of local friends and supporters, have stepped forward with a proposal to help Chabad thrive as we head into 2021. They will match every donation made to our center until the end of the year - up to $20,000!
